The Haderslev Public Libraries have 30 employees, who all make a daily effort to serve the public and the library users.

Services
Using your local library is easy and free as we are public libraries.
To join you have to show proof of identity: any kind of identification or a health insurance card.
If you are 14 years old or younger, we will need your parent or guardian to give a written permission.
Using the libraries is also:
• Reading newspapers
• Finding out information
• Photocopying
• Using the internet
• Free WIFI
Borrowing from the library
You will have a 30 days loan period, where you can borrow books and audio-books.
You can also borrow cd's, CDroms, language courses, DVDs and videos.
There are charges on all materials returned late. To avoid them, you can renew loans, provided no-one is waiting for them. Renewals may be made by a personal visit to the library, on telephone or in the online catalogue via our web pages.
To search in the online catalogue via our web pages and to order materials you will have to use your personal identification number. To renew loans you will furthermore need a pin-code which can be obtained by a personal visit to the library.
For ethnic minorities the library offers a rank of facilities

The Danish Central Library for Immigrant Literature (DCLIL) is the internet website for a national resource centre for books and other media in foreign languages for ethnic minorities in Denmark.
Inter library loans
Books and other non-book materials requested by readers which are not in our online cataloque may be borrowed from other libraries through the inter library loan system: www.bibliotek.dk
Library information
Guided tours and information about the libraries can be given to clubs, schools and special groups on request.
Events and exhibitions
The libraries have many exhibitions, events and children's theatre performances throughout the year. See the event programme on our website or check the local newspapers for details.
For children
The children's libraries offer a wide range of materials for learning or leisure:
Books, music and films, computer games and playstation games for children at all ages from 0 -14 years. And also language-cases based on many topics.
We have toys and lots of room for relaxing. Free internet is available.
Services for blind people
The local Audio Newspaper provides local news in Danish. A new edition is available on cd (mp3) every week.
